#2021GlobalARMYSong
The idea of “waiting” has always been daunting… at least for me. There is this weird unease and discomfort that comes with the feeling of being super apprehensive that I really don’t like. For the majority of the pandemic, this is exactly what the world had to do — wait. We had to deal with the deafening silence of uncertainty, the neverending pile of bad news, and countless canceled plans. We buried our heads into our hands and screamed in frustration hoping to find a way out. The truth is, the most painful part of "waiting" is not the fact that we’re just stuck in place, watching as time goes by, leaving us unwilling to even pause and wait. It is the glimmer of hope that somehow gets shattered and having to wait for yet another moment to come along. The beauty in this though, is that with each new moment, we muster up enough courage to hope that things do get better, seasons do change, promises can be kept, and that in the process of waiting, we find change.
We are living in a time where our differences seem to become barriers that prevent us from seeing the commonality of being humans. My greatest hope is that this song will be able to showcase just a fraction of the beautiful possibilities when people from different backgrounds, countries, races, ages, gender identity, and more do come together and create something incredible.
I really hope this song becomes that glimmer of hope for you. To allow yourself to finally say "let it be...” because no matter how long the wait is, those Seven from Seoul will be there. They will simply understand, will always stay even though it’s sinking sand, and it is STILL okay to take their hands.
I hope 2021 becomes a year that you look beyond the long nights and grey skies and hold on to that hope that someday, everything will be alright.
Sending you the biggest and warmest hug.
All My Love,
Gracie
